Game on! Sharapova back on the market
The hunt is back on. It was announced this weekend that the worlds biggest female sportsbrand, Maria Sharapova is single yet again as she broke up with Grigor Dimitrov after a year-long relationship. I wish her much happiness and success in life and in tennis.” Sharapova has been pretty quiet, however after her vacation to Montenegro, where Dimitrov didn’t come along, there hasn’t been that much doubt as to her actual commitment and the hunt for the long-legged Russian tennis player can begin once again. Much like the rest of the tennis playing elite, Maria Sharapova is on vacation at the moment, but she will be back on the courts halfway through August where she will be competing at the Rogers Cup in Canada. By the end of August, Maria Sharapova will of course be staying in New York where she will be getting ready for US Open, along with Serena Williams, Simona Halep, Petra Kvitová, Caroline Wozniacki and the rest of the top tennis...Serena will participate in US Open
The top female tennis player, Serena Williams, had to withdraw herself from the WTA Championship in Båstad last week after suffering an injury. This must have been quite a disappointment for the event planners as they had made a pretty big deal out of bringing Serena Williams to Sweden. Thankfully, they still had lots of media coverage as the renowned tennis player did not hesitate to display herself on social medias. Ongoing speculations It didn’t take very long before experts and connaisseurs alike started speculating whether US Open was going to suffer the same fate as the Swedish Open, which would mean doing without “The Queen of the Court”. “As much fun as we have been having the past 8 or so weeks I have to take some time to let my elbow heal,” Serena said on her Facebook profile, ”I am confident it will be ready for the rest of the summer. I need some time to recover and rehab it, but as of now I am being forced to take the next week...Britain in Davis Cup for first time in decades

On the one hand Great Britain will be playing against Australia and on the other it will be Argentina versus Belgium. Britain has not been able to advance into the Davis Cup semifinals in 34 years, however Andy Murray’s victory over French Gilles Simon on Sunday opened up a spot for Britain into the semifinals. The last time Britain reached the semifinals was back in 1981 where they got defeated by Argentina.
