US Open 2015: Aftermath

Despite our expectations, Serena Williams did not manage to beat Roberta Vinci in the semifinals which means she did not win this edition of US Open. Serena was set as the big favorit in this match so it came as a surprise to everyone. When you compare stats between the two it’s quite obvious why it was such a chock: Vinci has lost 24 matches in 2015 whileas Serena Williams has lost 22 matches in the past 10 year! Even more frustrating, the italian Roberta Vinci got beaten in the semifinals by Flavia Pennetta another Italian tennis player. We hope you enjoyed our us open live streaming services. Federer: oldest champion in 45 years

US Open has been an excellent example of how 30 is the new 20. In any case the tournament is being dominated by players who have reached a rather “elderly” age. It is especially the “old” female tennis players that have kept the lead since three of the four semi finalists have passed their youth period. On the gentlemens side, Roger Federer has been playing like a senior and has lead our thoughts into that time where no one could touch him on top of the tennis hierarchy. Should he go on to win US Open he would then become the oldest winner in 45 years. This has been a rare occasion, where older players reach these stages. The last player over 30 who won Us Open was Pete Sampras who, 27 days after his 31st birthday, was holding the trophy at the Arthur Ashe Stadium back in 2002. This year Federer has just turned 34 years old so there is still time for him to get the title while being the oldest winner ever. Ken Rosewall currently detains this record, when he in 1972 won Australian Open while being 37 years old. Two years previously he also became the oldest winner of US Open when he was 35 years old. In the Us Open semifinals Roger Federer will be facing Stanis Wawrinka – this will be an epic match and you can watch it by Live Streaming Us Open...

Djokovic feels the pressure

He has been incredible so far in US Open. However Roberto Bautista-Agut from Spain managed to put a lot of pressure on Novak Djokovic. So much so that he was showing a lot of signs of frustrations as he lost the second set. He actually threw his racket down and the referee gave him a warning. This is the first set that the worlds number one tennis player has lost in this Grand Slam, he did though in the end manage to pull through and won the two last sets, winning the match with 6-3, 4-6, 6-4, 6-3. “Credit to him for fighting, for making me work,” said Djokovic. “It was a very physical match. I played over three hours, and I’m just glad that I managed to stay tough.” The Serbian must now duel yet another player from Spain at US Open, namely, Feliciano Lopez (18). This is by the way Djokovic’s 26th quarterfinals in a row. Did you miss the match? Don’t let it happen again, find out how to watch Us Open Live Streaming right here on...

Murray beats sleeping opponent

One can say many things about Nick Kyrgios, one thing is sure he get’s more attention than he deserves. As we saw him dangeling around on the tennis court one couldn’t help but to lower ones head in shame. In the first round match against Andy Murray at US Open, the australian player saw fit to take a small nap during the match pause. Murray spent his time putting ice on his neck as one would in a hot summer New York day, all the while Kyrgios was taking ‘resting period’ rather litteraly and taking a quick nap. It did help though, Murray was brilliant on the tennis court, even though tennis expert and legend John McEnroe said he was not impressed by Andy Murray’s performace. Despite this, he still managed to win in four sets with 7-5, 6-3, 4-6, 6-1. Next up, our country hero is playing against Adrian Mannarino from France. Did you see this match? Sharapova out of US Open

The year’s final Grand Slam is finally upon us! This week we will be able to watch US Open in all its glory. However the tournament has barely begun and already we learn that the Russian tennis queen Maria Sharapova will not be participating due to an leg injury. Maria Sharapova has not played since Wimbledon where she lost to Serena Williams during the semifinals. She had the following to say on her Facebook page: Unfortunately I will not be able to compete in this year’s US Open, I have done everything possible to be ready but it was just not enough time. To all my amazing fans, I will be back in the Asian swing in a few weeks and look forward to finishing the year healthy and strong. This is not the first time that Sharapova withdraws herself from US Open. In 2008 it was because of a shoulder operation that hindered her from playing for around 10 months. In 2013, it was the exact same right shoulder that prevented her from participating and now it’s her leg. US Open might have lost a major player but it doesn’t make it any less exciting.
