Wimbledon starts June 22

The glass roof is polished and the freshly cut grass is awaiting the players at Wimbledon. From Monday 22nd of June the first ball will be served and many of the tennis players below the top-100 can finaly get a shot at the big championship. The qualifying round will run until Thursday 25th of June and only then will the draw be made for the actual championship that will be held from Monday 29th of June until the 12th of July. We’re of course cheering for Andy Murray. Otherwise the favourites remain the same Novak Djokovic, Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal. Wimbledon vs French Open

There wasn’t much love in the air as Novak Djokovic beat the great Rafael Nadal in the French Open quarter finals. One would have thought that the “moral final” would have been a fair fight, where choosing a favorite would have been impossible. But for the second time in 11 years Nadal had to realise that there wouldn’t be another French Open title waiting for him this time. In 2009 he had to give up his place to Robin Söderling and then Roger Federer ended up taking the title home. Seven times Wimbledon champ knocked out

It might be that Roger Federer has won Wimbledon an amazing seven times. It might also be that he was seeded in the good half of French Open. But he can’t really brag about it anymore as the elegant swiss player got knocked out from the French championship with a bang.
